After examination by the Junghans people here in the UK I am told that because of the fault the whole watch 'unit' needs replacing. The watch was a gift from my late brother and it is a Junghans Mega Solar Radio Controlled Watch.īasically it has stopped synchronising with the time signal transmitted from Germany.
I didn't want to come back too early before I got a reasonable number and could see if there was a 'consensus' and I think there might be. Hence my enquiry and my contention that I should have expected a longer life out of such a time piece. The only parts not being replaced are of course, the casing, hands and solar cell but because of this the cost is equivalent to a new watch.
